Fairly recently opened as the newest creation of locally renowned and nationally acclaimed chef Janos Wilder, Downtown Kitchen + Cocktails proudly supports the rebirth of downtown Tucson. Serving American cuisine inspired by the infusion of different cultures into America, the restaurant relies heavily upon the local farmers & gardeners to provide its seasonal produce. The atmosphere is hip and airy, while the food is of the excellent quality that you’d expect from a James Beard award winner for Top Chef in the Southwest. Janos has a long history in the Tucson community having opened up his namesake restaurant Janos on Halloween of 1983. Blending local ingredients with his background in French culinary technique, Janos quickly propelled his restaurant to the national forefront. Then in 1999 Janos opened up a less expensive, more casual restaurant called the J BAR nearby at the Westin La Paloma. Already Downtown Kitchen + Cocktails has gained appeal amongst local diners and is sure to gather additional recognition as an up and coming culinary success.
