Summer’s grip is still upon us in the Old Pueblo and staying cool is a priority for just about everyone. One way to beat the heat is by knowing how to effectively use your ceiling fans. Contrary to what some may believe, ceiling fans don’t actually make the air colder in a room. They do however make you feel cooler by circulating the cold air your AC produces more efficiently, providing in essence a wind chill effect. The use of a ceiling fan can produce up to a four degree cooling effect. Another great benefit that also saves money is you can turn them off when no one is in the room, further reducing electric expenses. When compared with table fans & floor fans, ceiling fans are considered the most effective because of the draft they create.
